1. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or using UniversityMatch, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you disagree, do not use the service.
Provide truthful information and have legal capacity to accept these Terms. Minors need guardian authorization where required.
2. The service
UniversityMatch helps discover, compare, and save universities, estimate compatibility, organize applications, track deadlines, and import user-provided information. Features may evolve, enter testing, or be discontinued, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
3. Your account
- Protect credentials and do not share your session.
- Keep email and recovery information current.
- Report suspicious access immediately.
- You are responsible for account activity except misuse not attributable to you.
4. Guidance, not a guarantee
Scores, Dream/Reach/Target/Safety labels, scholarships, costs, rankings, and recommendations support decisions. They do not guarantee admission, aid, visas, or financial outcomes and are not official, legal, or financial advice.
Data and deadlines may change. Confirm everything with the institution or authority before deciding or applying.
5. Your content and imports
You retain rights in submitted data and files and grant UniversityMatch a limited, non-exclusive license to host, protect, and process them only to provide and improve requested features.
By uploading a PDF, you confirm you may use it and authorize automated reading. Review results: extraction may be imperfect. Do not submit malicious or unauthorized third-party content.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not engage in fraud, spam, harassment, impersonation, or rights violations.
- Do not bypass authentication, limits, security, or permissions.
- Do not upload malware, exploit vulnerabilities, disrupt, or attack infrastructure.
- Do not scrape, reverse engineer, or copy at scale without legal basis or written permission.
- Do not use data for unlawful or discriminatory decisions.
7. Third parties and marks
Google sign-in and external links also follow third-party terms. UniversityMatch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Google, Common App, or listed universities unless expressly stated. Marks belong to their owners.
8. Intellectual property
The UniversityMatch brand, interface, code, editorial text, and created elements are protected. These Terms grant only a personal, limited, non-transferable right of use and do not transfer our intellectual property.
9. Availability and changes
We seek availability and security, but maintenance, networks, providers, or events beyond our control may interrupt service. We may change features for security, performance, or product improvement and will notify material changes affecting rights.
10. Suspension and termination
We may proportionately limit or suspend accounts for risk, abuse, material breach, or legal obligations. You may close and delete the account directly from Your account or request assistance through our contact. Obligations that should survive by nature remain effective.
11. Liability
UniversityMatch is responsible within applicable law. Nothing excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited. You must review information and make your own academic decisions.
12. Privacy
The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and explains data processing. For data conflicts, applicable law and the Privacy Policy control.
13. Law and disputes
Brazilian law applies. We will seek good-faith resolution through our contact, preserving mandatory consumer rules and the legally competent venue.
